Data Protection and security in the Gömböc Webshop
All information about you and your private data are only collected, processed, and saved in order to complete your orders. All private data supplied to Gömböc is accordingly protected from third party access. The data is handled in accordance with the Hungarian Data Protection Act. No personal data will be collected during your visit to Gömböc’s internet presence.
We only collect data, if you
• submit a contract offer to Gömböc in the form of an order
• register for the newsletter and thus agree to the respective data collection.
Personal information is information that is used to ascertain your identity. It includes, for example, your name, address, mailing address, phone number. Information that cannot be connected to your person (such as number of site users) does not fall under this category.
Collection and Utilization of Personal Information
Gömböc protects its data in accordance with the German Federal Data Protection Act and the German Telemedia Act. Gömböc will use your personal data exclusively to process the order unless you would like to take advantage of additional services. To process and deliver your order, Gömböc will only provide your information to the delivery service charged with the delivery of your order. The company makes sure that all collected information is only collected, saved, used, and processed in a legally permitted manner.
For you to be able to order in the shop and for us to process your order, Gömböc requires your first name, your last name, your e-mail address, your billing and, if different, delivery address (street, postal/zip code, place) and your phone number. You will be sent an e-mail confirming your order immediately after the order is placed. In addition, Gömböc requires your e-mail address and phone number to be able to contact you quickly should there be any further questions or information required in connection with your order. If the order is COD, Gömböc does not need any additional information. If you are using a credit card to pay for the order or if you are using a direct debiting system, Gömböc requires the additional information to process your order.
This way, Gömböc can process your order and keep you informed about your order status.
Newsletter and Information
If you are ordering informational material, newsletter or brochures, Gömböc may ask you for other personal information, your e-mail address will definitely be requested. It is up to you if you want to disclose this information. Gömböc saves your information on especially secure servers in Germany. Only very few authorized persons responsible for the technical, commercial or editorial maintenance of the server have access to this information. If you are no longer interested in these services, just click on the appropriate link listed on the end of each newsletter. You can also write an e-mail to Gömböc via the customer support form.
In connection with your access, the Gömböc servers may also save data for security reasons that might make identification possible (e.g. IP address, date, time, and viewed pages). The IP address is not used to identify the user and we do not generate personal or pseudonymous user profiles. The company reserves the right to statistically evaluate anonymized data sets.
The Future of your Personal Information at Gömböc
Gömböc does not provide your personal data to third parties unless legally required to do so. Gömböc, like all internet companies, continually evaluates the clicks on the internet pages and the domains of its internet provider to improve its offering. To do so, Gömböc anonymizes your personal user data to generate statistics.
Protection of your Information through SSL Encryption
Gömböc uses a secure transfer process – the so-called "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) transfer – to process customer information. All information transferred in this secure manner is encrypted before being sent to Gömböc. By conversion into code, your personal data such as name or address is encrypted by Gömböc’s security server software. This way, this information cannot be read by unauthorized persons while it is transferred. Most of the current browsers already support this secure transfer technology.
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small information units Gömböc needs to identify you as a user during your online visit at the Gömböc Shop and to facilitate a seamless purchasing experience. They manage the "shopping cart” function and its memory function. Your browser saves cookies on the hard drive only during your actual visit, require very little disk space and do not impact your computer. Cookies do not contain any specific personal information.
Most browsers routinely access cookies. You can customize your security setting to either allow or block temporary and saved cookies. If you deactivate cookies, some of the features on the Gömböc website might not be available to you, and some websites might not be displayed properly.
Gömböc will only link the information saved on its cookies with your personal information (name, address, etc.) if you give your consent. You must allow [temporary/permanent] cookies to use our shopping cart!
